Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, statutory regulations, and industry standards related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs aimed at reducing workplace incidents, occupational risks, and environmental impact.
  • Partner with Workplace Safety Officers and relevant stakeholders to review, update, and enhance safety procedures, risk controls, and legal compliance requirements.
  • Investigate and manage the related incidents, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate workplace safety, health, and environmental programs to maintain a safe, compliant, and sustainable work environment.
  • Monitor and manage certification applications, permit renewals, and regulatory submissions, ensuring timely compliance.
  • Liaise with certification bodies and external auditors to coordinate audits and certification activities.
  • Ensure all required licenses, permits, and certifications remain valid and compliant with regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, hazard evaluations, and reviews of hazardous materials handling and control measures.
  • Maintain SHEQ documentation and records, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly safety meetings, workplace inspections, and compliance audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to employees, contractors, and visitors on workplace safety, health, environmental, and security matters.
  • Promote safety awareness through training programs, campaigns, toolbox talks, and employee engagement activities.
  • Advise operational and maintenance teams on safe work practices and continuous improvement of safety systems.
  • Drive EHS initiatives and foster a positive safety culture through active engagement, leadership support, and visible safety practices.
  • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve environmental, health, and safety concerns.
  • Support the organization's sustainability agenda by promoting responsible resource utilization and environmental stewardship.
  • Monitor environmental compliance requirements and stay updated on regulatory developments and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and submit mandatory environmental reports, including waste management and packaging-related sustainability reports.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for reducing waste generation, energy consumption, and carbon emissions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in process safety, hazard management, EHS, or SHEQ roles within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, incident investigations, and hazard control methodologies.
  • Certified Internal Auditor or ISO Auditor for ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards.
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager (SCDF certification).
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM .
  • Experience in Quality Assurance and management systems is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with environmental sustainability initiatives, regulatory submissions, and compliance reporting.
